The History of MacLean
Cattle Ltd.
After many years as a packer buyer and then as
a Head Buyer in the packing industry, Chuck MacLean
established his own order buying company in 1975.
MacLean Cattle Ltd. was a company based on customer
service and long-term business relationships.
This remained the company's focus throughout its
existence and these principles continue to define
the Porter & MacLean philosophy.
The History of Porter Livestock
As a fourth generation rancher, Rick Porter has
the prairies in his blood. Livestock has been his
family's livelihood since their ranch was established
in 1883. His interests in the industry ultimately
lead to the founding of Porter Livestock Ltd. in
1983. Rick is also a partner in Western Feedlots
Ltd. - Western Canada's largest custom feedlot operation.
Over the years Porter Livestock built a solid reputation
for doing business fairly and innovatively. These
characteristics continue to be the focus at Porter
& MacLean.
